The JUBU Carbon hard-top is ultra lightweight, but also pretty stiff (depending on chosen variant) and stable because it is made of a mix of carbon and kevlar fibres (kevlar is also used for bullet-proof armor). 

Our focus for the product is to provide a functional and affordable, ultra-lightweight part. This is why we use the carbon-injection method for producing the hard-top. Whith this specific method, little displacements of the fibres may occur in the final product - especially at beads and folds. Such displacements are only optical issues (if you want to see them as an issue) and do not effect the functionality in any way. If you want to reach out for highest optical standards, we recommend to paint this areas.

As standard, the product comes with a matte surface (straight out of the mold), a coating with transparent, uv-resistant paint (matte or glossy finish) is available as option.

The JUBU hard-top replaces the OEM Lotus hard-top plug & play.

Details

• Very lightweight (Option "Motorsport": 2350g, Option "Street": 3390g; Lotus OEM (GFK): 10136g). If you go with the motorsport-variant (as little weight as technical possible), we use a very thin layer of CFK for the hard-top. Depending on your speed and on the condition of the road, the hard-top may vibrate or flutter a little bit. If you use your car mainly for sporty driving on roads, we remommend the street-variant which is stiffer because it is thicker and made of more CFK-Layers (but it is also a little bit heavier).
• Medium visible carbon quality (minimal optical visible displacements of the carbon layers may occur)
• Matte, untreated finish (matte or glossy finish with transparent, uv-resistant paint possible - please see "Options")

• Finish: matte (untreated, fresh of the mold), matte painted (UV-resistant transparent paint, app. 500g additional weight) or glossy painted (UV-resistant transparent paint, app. 500g additional weight)
• Variant: "Motorsport" (as light as technically possible, may wobble) or "Street" (stiffer, thicker carbon layer, higher weight)
• Mounting- & sealing-kit (Aluminium mounting rails, sealings, mounting material) for self-installation or with pre-installed sealings on the hard-top

NOTE: The part is handbuilt by using the vakuum-injection method. Minimal visible displacements of the carbon layers may occur.

NOTE: Depending on the chosen variant, the weight of the hard top may vary. If you choose an additional finish with matte or glossy paint, this will add app. 500g in weight.
