JUBU upgrade pre radiator system
As part of this upgrade, we fit an additional pre radiator to drastically increase intercooler cooling capacity (and thus significantly reduce intercooler temperatures). The original intercooler (located in the Exige at the left-hand front air intake) is supplemented by an additional, large pre radiator. This has two-thirds of the radiator surface area of the water cooler used for engine cooling (the intercooler radiator is only slightly thinner than the water cooler).
Crucial to an effective improvement in cooling performance is, on the one hand, the surface area of the radiators and, on the other hand, the respective airflow to the individual vehicle cooling units. Additional systems fitted by many other suppliers do improve intercooler cooling, but due to their design, they simultaneously obstruct the airflow to other coolers installed in the vehicle (e.g. by placing a cooler directly in the crash box inlet or directly in the airflow). Our tests have shown that whilst such systems do improve intercooler cooling, the water cooling or the cooling performance of the overall system suffers at the same time – meaning, at best, a zero-sum game in terms of cooling performance.
Thanks to its sophisticated and extensively tested design, the JUBU intercooler system significantly reduces intercooler temperatures without compromising the cooling performance of other systems. With the JUBU system, sufficient cooling capacity is therefore always available – even under sustained loads and with engine outputs of up to 600 hp (tested in the JUBU Exige 600 HDM and the JP ZERO GT2).
Benefits and advantages
- Improved power output thanks to consistently cooler intercooler temperatures (even under sustained loads during track use)
- A cooler system overall, even under sustained high loads – thereby protecting the engine and peripherals during very sporty driving or track day and racing use
- A virtually ‘invisible’ performance-enhancing measure that does not need to be registered
- Extensively tested and proven technology
- A must-have for track day and racing vehicles
Product details
- High-quality components
- Consistent reduction in charge cooling temperature by up to 20°C (under identical conditions and load)
- The price difference compared to competitors stems, on the one hand, from the slightly more complex installation process – due to the specific positioning within the vehicle – and, on the other hand, from the superior quality of the components used. During installation, we remove the front clamshell and position the intercooler where it receives the best airflow – directly beneath the radiator. The cooling package now comprises the following: air conditioning radiator, intercooler and radiator with the OEM top-mount fan assembly.
- The original fans can still be used. Minor modifications to the crash box are required. (The pipework will need to be cleared)
Suitable for
- Exige 390/410/420/430 (all Exige V6 models with original Lotus intercooler)
- 3-Eleven
Scope of delivery
- Aluminium pre radiator for the intercooler circuit
- Mounting brackets for the water-cooled intercooler
- Mounting brackets for the AC radiator
- Black silicone hoses to maintain the standard appearance (2x 90° bends)
- Fitting hardware (clamps, screws)
Options
- Fitting to the vehicle including test drive and system check
- Fitting of an aluminium water radiator (for engine cooling)
Tech Tip:
This kit is recommended for professional users only. Installation is complex and not suitable for DIY enthusiasts! It is necessary to remove the front clamshell – replacing the original radiator or carrying out work on the brake lines, air conditioning and ventilation can be done cost-effectively at the same time.
